Homemade Candy Corn

Hey Everyone!  This weekend has been very lazy for me!  I have definitely been more tired the past few weeks than normal.  Bryan spent part of the day staining the rocking chair my parents got me for the nursery.

Once the rocking chair is done, the nursery will be ready!

After my nap yesterday, Bryan and I went to watch football at one of the only sports bars in San Mateo.  I was nice because we have had a heat wave so the house was getting very hot!  Bryan made candy corn when we got home!  It is so good and taste exactly like what you buy at the stores.  Bryan’s friend Andrew told him about this recipe and since Bryan loves to bake he had to make it. The recipe came from LifeHacker.    These are the ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 cup dry powdered milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (or use salted butter and don’t ad the 1/4 teaspoon of salt)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring

Now I am off to make chili and enjoy my Sunday!  Have a great day.
